The first thing that catches your eye is the grapevine wall surrounding this garden. It is not exceptionally high, but it is not easily crossed. This is the most delicate point of the Nine of Pentacles. She is completely independent. She needs no one's help and no one's validation. Yet, within that total self-reliance, there is no space left for anyone else. What this garden cultivated were grapes and gold coins, not people to share them with. This does not mean it is a bad thing. However, this empty space quietly reveals that every form of abundance grows alongside its own shadow.
